Mount Baldy Century Rated B Start at Imperial Highway and La Palma in Anaheim and followed the Carbon Canyon Century route up Carbon Canyon to China Hills. Climb Glendora Mountain Road to Glendora Ridge Road to the top at Cow Canyon Saddle and over to the Mt. Baldy Ranger Station. Enjoy the descent to Glendora then back the same way via Brea Cany Follow this link for the most current route sheet |
| Kitchen Creek Century Rated A Troy Raffelson takes credit for this century. This route included an awesome climb called Kitchen Creek. This new Kitchen Creek Century includes a 30 mile section with 3,500 feet of gain in the middle. The start and finish will take you on some of the greatest roads in the Alpine and East San Diego County area. It’s truly an awesome route. Use this link to check weather in Pine Valley which is about 4,000 ft elevation. CAUTION: This Century is not recommended for first time century riders ... it's got at least 9,000 Feet of Climbing making it harder than the Mount Baldy Century!! Route Sheet Google Maps for Ride Meet Pictures from Troy Raffelson If you look in the first picture you can see the hills off in the distance that are captured in the second picture. The third picture shows the best part of the ride and that is the single lane road that is closed to vehicular traffic. IT IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE CLIMBS IN SAN DIEGO. | The majority of these centuries are credited to Chuck Bramwell and his merry men/women of the Orange County Wheelmen. Please provide feedback to him if there are errors or improvements to the routes. There are other contributors and they will be listed when known otherwise it is assumed it was an OCW contributor or Chuck Bramwell himself. Chuck can be reached at cbrams@caltriplecrown.com . |
Carbon Canyon Century Rated C 79 Miles with 3,400 Feet of Climbing 98 Miles with 4,300 Feet of Climbing 106 Miles with 4,900 Feet of Climbing The elevation gain of 7,267 feet is way overstated so don’t be scared off by that number – the 106 mile option has 4,900 feet of climbing according to my Ciclosport HAC4 computer. This ride will start at “The Square” (formerly Foodpark) in Irvine at Main and MacArthur (TBM 859-G4/28-C3). Main and MacArthur is near the intersection of the San Diego Freeway (405) and the Newport (55) Freeway. Take the MacArthur Blvd. exit from the San Diego (405) Freeway and turn North ... Main Street is the first street Northeast of the 405 Freeway. Meet in the Parking Lot behind the Starbucks. Follow this link to the current route sheet for the Carbon Canyon Century |
