Chris Prevost, 20 I began my athletic training at Mira Mesa High School running all four years in varsity Cross Country and Track. I progressed my way to the top runner in school before graduating in 2003. After graduating I continued running as a recreational activity and decided to start my swim training before I would join the San Diego Lifeguard Academy in 2005. I now work as a beach lifeguard in Coronado on the North Island Naval Station (awesome job). Everyday I worked through that summer and winter I would be able get in several workouts either running, swimming, or weight training. Later a friend would suggest and encouraged me to enter a triathlon. So I went out bought my first bike in February 2006 and trained for the next few months. After my first triathlon I was hooked and fell in love with the sport and have been training ever since. I am currently running with the Mesa College Cross Country Team, training on the bike with George Vargas and taking swim classes at Mesa College. 05/28/06 - 1st Encinitas Triathlon 20-24 Age Group 06/25/06 - 2nd San Diego International Triathlon 20-24 Age Group 07/09/06 - 1st Carlsbad Triathlon 20-24 Age Group 07/30/06 - 2nd Solana Beach Triathlon 20-24 Age Group 09/10/06 - 1st Los Angeles Triathlon 20-24 Age Group (2nd overall AG) |
Carol Stoyla Age 49 I caught the triathlon bug in 1993 and have raced everything from sprint to Ironman distance with a few duathlons and centuries thrown in. I'm a "back of the pack" age grouper and I looked to George to improve my cycling back in 2005 while training for Wildflower Half Ironman Triathlon. With George's assistance, I have set PR's in the Half Ironman, Olympic and International triathlon distances, setting not only race PRs but bike PRs. With improved bike times, I'm psyched to compete in IM Canada in 2007. 9/30/06 - 1st 45-49 age group Bonelli Park Olympic Triathlon 4/29/06 - 2nd 45-49 age group Bonelli Park Championship Triathlon 5/15/06 - 3rd 45-49 age group Bonelli Park Championship Triathlon |
