Palomar Mountain Palomar Mountain is the local mountain in San Diego County if you want to get some serious climbing in. It is an Hors Categorie (HC) or above category climb by Tour de France standards. By definition HC climbs are ...the longest, steepest mountain climbs. Extremely difficult, sometimes 15km to 20km, with grades often exceeding 10 percent. It is one of my favorite mountains to train on. I can do repeats on it yes Palomar repeats. If you are getting ready for Everest Challenge or any climbing event then Palomar Mountain is the place.
